Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has announced a three day nationwide mourning due to the recent disaster in the country.
This announcement was made in the cabinet meeting yesterday.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani also made a visit to Panjsher Province, one of the heavy hit areas by snow. Nearly 200 people died in snow related incidents.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ordered immediate assistance to the people affected.
President Ghani also said government has made arrangement to respond to possible floods in Panjshir Province.
Panjshir one of the provinces heavy hit by snow fall where at least 187 people died after avalanches hit some villages in recent days.
Abdul Khabir Bakhshi, Deputy Governor of Panjshir said that five districts were heavy hit by snow in this province.
The heavy snowfall also has blocked a number of roads that connects district with the provincial capital.
But Deputy Governor said that efforts were being made to open block roads for traffic.
Badakhshan, Baghlan, Takhar and Bamyan are among the other provinces heavy snow where dozens of people have lost their lives.
